Uncle Carl had come back from a short break in Italy yesterday and had bought us some seeds, and as he was off work today he came round at 9:00am and we went down to see the allotment. He seemed really impressed as it had grown alot since he had last seen it.
The potatoes are now all flowering (Maris Piper is a lovely yellow, white and purple flower, and the salad potato is a white flower). Carl said generally they are ready to start digging up 3 weeks after flowering so we're looking forward to sampling our own potatoes :-)
Uncle Carl had brought us a packet of Italian plum tomatoes, Italian courgettes (which we can sow next year), and a packet of Swiss Chard, and red chicory. So we have put in a row of red chicory at the end of the 'Brassica's' bed, and a row of Swiss Chard inbetween the Butternut squash and celeriac.
